WPL HAVE A LOT OF FRONT

Project: Wythenshawe Forum

Value:

Clients Name: Wythenshawe Forum

Completed: Nov 2003

Wythenshawe Forum which is being redeveloped by Manchester City Council, Wythenshawe Partnership and the new Wythenshawe Forum Trust at a cost of 20 million pounds is to be given new life as a modern, welcoming, safe and accessible building at the heart of community life.

WPL-UK will once again be using their Euro Sol 3000 series louvre blades in the car park area.

They are also helping to enhance the ‘Lenningrad Square’ elevation in a purely decorative format, which demonstrates the aesthetic appeal of using louvres in a non-functional way.

When finished the development will incorporate four distinct areas dedicated to leisure, health, learning and childcare. Building work on the leisure, learning and childcare areas should be completed by April 2004.

THE COMPANY PARKED OUT FRONT IS WPL

THE COMPANY PARKED OUT FRONT IS WPL

Project: Swinton Car Park, Manchester

Value:

Clients Name: Taylor Woodrow Construction

Completed: May 2003

Multi story car parks are normally an eye sore, and very boring to look at and seen as many as a throw back to sixties architecture, but thanks to WPL-UK the new Swinton car park at the Macintosh development in Manchester has managed to buck the trend.

Nearly whole sides of the structure are clad with WPL-UK’s Euro Sol 3000 series louvre blades.

Not only does this add drama to the building, it also creates an open and lighter feel to the structure, but with added security of not being totally open.

Not only will the system shade the interior of the building, it also adds to the design.

WPL -UK also supplied a facetted Louvre Screen at roof level complete with bullnose head fascia, so the roof profile matched the shading.

WPL-UK also installed internal louvre barriers as a new idea to prevent car headlights at night shining through and disturbing the surrounding local residents.

Project: Kings Reach, Stockport

Value:

Clients Name:

Completed: May 2003

Kings Reach is a new high quality business park based in Stockport, right next door to the busy motorway network.

The office buildings comprises of 3 buildings with car parking.

WPL-UK have supplied and fitted Aerofoil Solar Shading to windows on all three buildings at the ground and first floor, with special feature laser cut rafter support arm.

Not only will the system shade the interior of the building, it also adds to the design.

WPL -UK also supplied a facetted Louvre Screen at roof level complete with bullnose head fascia, so the roof profile matched the shading.

The first phase of this development is now complete and ready for use.
